Today is a momentous day for the Young Pea Chef of the Year competition – we have officially revealed our 10 fantastic finalists!
We're delighted to report that in its inaugural year
the competition received around 150 recipes from children of all
ages and genders across the country - ranging from from Aberdeen to
Wiltshire, Skegness to Cheshire.
Our judging panel, including Yes Peas! campaign ambassador
Rachel Green, Waitrose Frozen Foods Buying Manager, Michael
Simpson-Jones, and representatives from Birds Eye and Pinguin
Foods, had quite a challenge shortlisting just ten recipes which
you can see here: www.youngpeachef.co.uk
From today (this is where we need you!), we will be launching a
voting stage by which members of the public will be invited to vote
for their favourite recipe - the finalist with the most votes will
be crowned Young Pea Chef of the Year 2016 and win £500 worth of
cooking equipment from competition sponsor, Waitrose.
Between now and the closing date on 16th May 2016, we
would appreciate your help in spreading the word and sharing the
competition information with all of your contacts, groups and
networks. Voting takes place via our Yes Peas! Facebook page here:
http://woobox.com/h3doeq/gzwiit.
We have supplied our finalists with a check list to inspire them
to spread the word (see below) and will be working closely with
them and their schools to support them through the next stage.
Today, we are sending out a national press release (see below),
as well as ten regional press releases, to secure press coverage
for the finalists and their recipes and will be focusing on
securing recipe features over the next month.
Your help raising awareness of the competition and sharing it
via social media will be invaluable - our Twitter is @YesPeasand
Facebook is www.facebook.com/YesPeas.
